MyDIYRemedy: Headache Buster Spray

I formulated this Headache Buster Spray about two months ago. I used to apply Peppermint EO neat. I found neat essential oil application was quite expensive. Hence I blend a few essential oils in water. The result? Wonderful! I sprayed at the back of my neck and forehead whenever I felt like going to have a headache. It helped to prevent it from becoming worse. I always make sure the spray is ready when I need it. It could last for few weeks. Yes, this saves money! This is a must try formula for those who have migraines and frequent headaches. You will appreciate this, Insha Allah.

I love Cedarwood essential oil due to its many health benefits which you may find here. This is also one of the cheapest essential oil but it does work wonders. It helps to improve focus. Good for kids to have focus in class.

Popular Uses of Cedarwood Essential Oil

1. Diffuse after a stressful day to relax the mind and body.
2. Use with a carrier oil in massage therapy.
3. Add 1–2 drops to facial toner or moisturizer for added clarifying properties.
4. Inhale directly or diffuse to promote healthy respiratory function.

Headache Buster Spray

Ingredients
100 ml Water
5 Drop Peppermint Essential Oil
5 Drop Cedarwood Essential Oil
5 Drop Lemongrass Essential Oil
100 ml Spray Amber Glass Bottle (if possible)

Steps

1. Blend all ingredients in the bottle.
2. Lightly shake the bottle to blend in.

MyDIYRemedy: Syira's Hair Serum

This hair serum I made specially for my niece, Syira. The serum will work wonders for those suffer with hair loss and dandruff. I myself use this serum and happy with the result. Of course it needs to be applied regularly before we can see the result.

I love the flower scent from Geranium essential oil. The cooling effects from Peppermint helps to relieve itchiness caused by dandruff and get rid of it.

Syira's Hair Serum

Ingredients
25 ml VCO
5 drop Peppermint Essential Oil

5 drop Tea Tree Essential Oil

5 drop Cedarwood Essential Oil

5 drop Geranium Essential Oil

30 ml amber glass with dropper

Steps

1. Wash the bottle with warm/hot water. Let it dry.
2. Pour half of the VCo into the bottle. 
3. Drop each essential oils.
4. Pour the remaining VCO.
5. Lightly shake the bottle to blend essential oils and carrier oil.

MyDIYRemedy: Face Cream with Sunscreen and Lovely Scent

This is the best skincare formula I've ever formulated. I believe it has all the required ingredients for my skin. This can be applied of course on the face, as well as on neck, hands and armpit. It is also good for dry feet. I would call it All-4-One Cream 😍 I prefer the white and silky color without adding natural coloring from cocoa powder for instance.

You may adjust the ingredient accordingly. If you like it less oily, you may add more Arrow root powder. The texture will be a bit heavy when you first apply it. However it will be absorbed after few minutes of application and the skin felt much lighter. If you still do not like the heavy texture even after being absorbed into the skin, you may apply natural powder foundation which I will share later. This combination of face cream and powder foundation really does wonder to my skin.

Please do not expect this cream to have full coverage for 24 hours. I use only natural ingredients. Hence it doen't reach that level of full coverage. I need to reapply the cream especially after Wuduk. This is Wuduk friendly product. It will be washed away easily. After 6 weeks of regular applications, I noticed less wrinkles especially around the eyes. The skin became soft and a bit glowing.

I like to add Frankincense, Carrot Seed Oil and Geranium essential oils to the face cream. Just few drops each. Carrot oil EO has natural sunscreen and it contains powerful antioxidants. I also added one or two drops of Tea Tree EO whenever I had breakouts. I do have it sometimes, may be caused by hormones or less sleep. The Tea Tree EO, it helped to clear congested skin.

I feel like I'm in control of handling my skin problems. This is one of the many benefits of making own natural handcrafted skincare products where it can be formulated according to our needs. I know each and every ingredients in the products. Of course it saves money too!

Face Cream with Sunscreen

Ingredients
1 tablespoon Shea Butter
1/2 teaspoon VCo
1/4 teaspoon Witch Hazel
1/2 teaspoon Zink Oxide
1/2 teaspoon Arrow Root Powder
Few drops of Vitamin E Oil
Few drops of Essential oils
20g Amber glass container


Steps

1. Double boil Shea butter and VCo till both melt and mixed well.
2. Off the heat.
3. Add the remaining ingredients one at a time very slowly.
4. Whisk slowly till combined.
5. Store in glass container.

MyDIYRemedy: Day Facial Serum

Simplicity is how I describe about my skincare routines. As working parent, I have really limited time to spend on skincare. But I'm willing to spend time for skincare formulation. Once I find the formula for my skin type which is sensitive and dry, I think that is a great success. This takes time of course. Lots of trial and error. With determination, Insha Allah, we will find a good working formula.

I started using this serum since June 2017. I had very sensitive skin with acne, blackhead, dark spot, uneven skin tone since teenager, not to mention the open pores. After 9 months applying the serum, I noticed my skin has a lot less acne and blackhead. I also noticed my face has better skin tone. Dark spots and old scars still there with some have lighten up. The serum has sunscreen protection which came from Carrot Seed EO and VCo.

So now let me share with you my simple formula for day facial serum.


Day Facial Serum

Ingredients

7 Drop Frank Drop

1 Drop Carrot Seed / Lavender / Geranium Essential Oil

Steps

1. Wet the face with clean water. 
2. Drop all ingredients on your hand and blend them together.
3. Apply the blend on the face and neck, also armpit if you wish.

MyDIYRemedy: The Lush Body Butter

Our body needs the love and care. Spoil it and massage every inch of the skin with this lush body butter, freshly scented with the therapeutic lavender essential oil. You will love it!

I use same formula for balm except I exclude Step #6. For Lip balm, I add some natural lip liquid made of Iron Oxide and Castor Oil. Then a few drops of Peppermint essential oil. You will love the freshness feeling when you apply the lip gloss. Sometimes I add just a bit on my cheeks for a fresh look.

The Lush Body Butter

Ingredients A
1/2 cup Shea Butter
1/2 cup Cocoa Butter
1/2 cup Virgin Coconut Oil
1/4 cup Jojoba Oil
1/4 cup Bees Wax
1/4 cup Emulsifying Wax

Ingredients B
1/2 cup Arrow Root Powder
1/2 teaspoon Habbatussauda Oil
1/2 teaspoon Vitamin E Oil
1/2 teaspoon Essential oils
Glass Container

Steps

1. Double boil Ingredients A till melt and mixed well.
2. Off the heat.
3. Add Ingredients B one at a time very slowly.
4. Whisk slowly till combined.
5. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
6. Use hand mixer to blend for about 5 minutes till fluffy.
7. Store in glass container.

MyDIYRemedy: Frankincense Essential Oil and Carrier Oil (Frank Drop)

I love this Frankincense essential oil due to its many health benefits. This oil has an earthy, balsamic aroma that is highly revered and known for a broad range of uses such as in skincare.

According to Dr Axe, "Frankincense has the ability to strengthen skin and improve its tone, elasticity, defense mechanisms against bacteria or blemishes, and appearance as someone ages. It may help tone and lift skin, reduce the appearance of scars and acne, and heals wounds. It may also be beneficial for fading of stretch marks, surgery scars or marks associated with pregnancy, and for healing dry or cracked skin." Please read more here.

I like to use Frankincense EO blend in carrier oil such as Virgin Coconut Oil (VCo). I call this Frank Drop Carrier Oil or just Frank Drop. I do not apply the oil neat because for me it's quite strong to apply by itself. Our skin will absorb the oil better if we dilute the EO with carrier oil such as VCo, Jojoba oil, Argan oil and others.

I often mix the Frank Drop with other EO such as Lemon EO when I clean my face. For Day Serum, I mix Frank Drop with Carrot Seed EO or Geranium EO. Love Love Love Geranium EO for its flower scent and benefits to the skin. For Night Serum, sometimes I just apply the Frank Drop or mix with Lemon EO for spot treatment such as scar and ageing spot.

Frank Drop Carrier Oil

Ingredients
30 Drop Frankincense Essential Oil
25 ml Virgin Coconut Oil (VCo)
1 Amber Glass Bottle 30 ml with Dropper

Steps

1. Wash the bottle with warm/hot water. Let it dry.
2. Pour half of the VCo into the bottle. 
3. Drop Frankincense EO.
4. Pour the remaining VCo.
5. Lightly shake the bottle to blend EO and carrier oil.

There are about 240 drops of EO in a 15ml bottle. EO normally comes in 15ml or 5ml bottle. SO here we can get 8 bottle of 30ml rank Drop.

Say 1 bottle of Frank Drop can last for a month....I believe it's worth the money considering the health benefits this oil could offer!
